The Melbourne Flower and Garden Show is on at the Exhibition Buildings  from Wednesday 21 March.

It’s almost upon us, the largest garden show in Australia. And am I excited or what?

I’ve been invited to speak this year on the main stage and on the Diggers stand. Here’s a link to the program on the main stage where my talks are ‘All you need to know about edible flowers’.

The Diggers stand talk is on Growing Flowers for Bees. It’s on Thursday 22 March11-12 . Come and say hi if you are at the show.

If that’s not exciting enough, I’m delighted to have my book on edible flowers: ‘A Delicious Bunch, growing and cooking with edible flowers’, and my Ecobotanica website nominated for the prestigious Laurels Awards. Each year these awards recognise the expansive work that members of the Horticultural Media Association have undertaken. The dinner is Tuesday night, and you can be sure I’ll let you know how I go. Next newsletter will probably be full of pictorial ideas from the show on growing gorgeous gardens too, so stand by.

UPDATE: I’m delighted to report that A Delicious Bunch was one of only three finalists for the book Laurel prize. The gong went to Angus Stewart and AB Bishop for ‘The Australian Native Garden’.

Well done to you both!
